LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Steven Gerrard, a former player for both England and Liverpool, has been named the new manager of Al Ettifaq of the Saudi Pro League.
The Saudi Pro League team’s confirmation of Gerrard as its new manager came in a tweet posted to their official Twitter account, @Ettifaq_EN

The message says: “Where legends are found, We’re thrilled to announce Steven Gerrard is our new head coach.”
Gerrard is not new to winning awards, the team wrote in another post, adding that he is a great who “brings a glorious history and exciting future to Ettifaq.”
At his former club team, Liverpool FC, Gerrard began his management career as a youth coach. His first trophy as a manager was the Scottish Premier League, which he later won with Rangers.
The 43-year-old Liverpool veteran also spent time at Aston Villa before being fired for only two victories in the team’s first 12 league games.
