LAGOS, NIGERIA (VOICE OF NAIJA) –Enyimba Football Club, the second place holder in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), is facing a penalty of two points deduction following the disruption of their match against Doma United.
The decision was reached by the disciplinary committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after a thorough review of the game in question.
The match, which was halted after 88 minutes with the score tied at 0-0, witnessed a contentious incident when Enyimba appeared to have scored a goal.

However, the goal was subsequently disallowed by the referee, who deemed it to be offside after consulting with Assistant Referee 1, who had raised the flag to signal the offside infringement.
The NFF has expressed its dissatisfaction with the referee’s decision-making process, as it involved an unconventional method of seeking assistance from an Outside Broadcasting Van situated outside the Enyimba International Stadium to make the final decision.
Consequently, the NFF has upheld the match result to be 0-0 from the moment of the controversial goal disallowance.
As a result of this ruling, Enyimba has dropped to the third position in the league standings.
Enyimba, known as the Aba giants, are planning to file an appeal against this decision.
