LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Cole Palmer, Chelsea’s emerging talent, has shed light on the incident involving Erling Haaland after attempting to overhear a Manchester City team discussion.
During the match against his former club, Palmer showcased his skills, capping it off with a decisive stoppage-time penalty to draw 4-4.
Engaging throughout, he nearly scored with a Hazard-esque run and playfully tried to listen in on City’s late team huddle.
Addressing the incident, Palmer clarified to reporters: “I was just joking around, not eavesdropping. Erling seemed to find it amusing, but not everyone else did.”

Palmer’s lively antics further solidified his rapport with Chelsea fans, following his impressive performances that quickly made him a favorite at Stamford Bridge.
His form also earned him a call-up to the England senior squad from the Under-21s, a decision that initially seemed like a joke to him.
Having contributed to eight goals in 11 matches for Chelsea this season, Palmer leads the club’s assists chart, sharing the spot with midfielder Conor Gallagher.
With a potential debut on the horizon, the forward, who played a pivotal role in England’s successful Under-21 World Cup campaign, anticipates his first senior appearance under Gareth Southgate against Malta and North Macedonia on 17 and 20 November, respectively.
