LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Former Barcelona icon Pedro, currently with Lazio, has expressed his willingness to return to Barcelona under Xavi’s management, shedding light on the club’s recent downturn.
Having left Barca for Chelsea in 2015 after a successful stint, Pedro remains open to the idea of a return, citing his deep ties to the club.
He mentioned, “If Xavi calls me, I’d come back without hesitation, although retiring from Barca seems far-fetched due to several factors, including my age.”

Pedro acknowledged Barcelona’s financial challenges but highlighted the potential of young talents like Lamine Yamal, Gavi, and Pedri, emphasizing their role in the team’s future.
Supporting Xavi’s vision, he expressed confidence in the manager’s capabilities to elevate Barcelona’s status.
However, despite backing from former players and the board, pressure mounts on Xavi following recent defeats in both the Champions League and La Liga.
As club football pauses for international fixtures, Pedro’s Lazio faces Salernitana in Serie A, while Xavi’s Barcelona clashes against Rayo Vallecano upon resuming domestic action on 25 November.
