Manchester City revealed a groundbreaking achievement in the 2022-23 season, amassing a Premier League record revenue of £712 million ($887 million) alongside an extraordinary wage bill, marking a historic period for the club.
The triumphant campaign, capped by their inaugural Champions League victory under Pep Guardiola, was not only a success on the field but also off it.
This impressive revenue figure represents a remarkable £99.8 million ($124 million) increase from the previous year, surpassing the prior record set by Manchester United at £648 million ($808 million) last month.

However, the records didn’t end there. The same season also witnessed an unprecedented Premier League and club-high profit of £80.4 million ($100 million), a substantial rise from last year’s £41.7 million ($52 million).
Furthermore, City’s wage bill soared dramatically to a staggering £423 million ($527 million) from £70 million ($87.3 million), setting a new pinnacle in English football history.
Khaldoon al-Mubarak, the club chairman, stated, “The question I was asked most often in the aftermath of the Champions League win in Turkey and the completion of ‘The Treble’ was ‘How do you top that?’.
“The answer is by doubling down on the proven philosophies and practices that have brought us this success and to challenge ourselves to continue to constantly innovate in order to achieve new levels of performance, on and off the field.”
Amid these achievements, the club remains under investigation for multiple breaches of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules.
The latest report acknowledges “a number of risks and uncertainties which could have a material impact on the club’s performance.”
Despite the 115 charges issued against them in February, City denies any wrongdoing.
