LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Cristiano Ronaldo and Jordan Henderson engaged in a heated exchange after Al-Nassr’s dramatic extra-time victory against Al-Ettifaq, rekindling their rivalry from their days at Manchester United and Liverpool.

The intense showdown saw Sadio Mane secure the winner in extra time at Riyadh’s King Saud University Stadium, propelling Al-Nassr into the King Cup of Champions quarter-finals.

Ronaldo confronted Henderson at the final whistle, expressing frustration towards the match officials.

The Portuguese striker engaged in a face-to-face exchange with Henderson before heading towards the tunnel, continuing their animated discussion as they left the field.

During the match, Henderson narrowly avoided a red card for deliberately pushing Portuguese international Otavio to the ground after Ali Hazazi had tripped the winger.

This led to a heated altercation on the pitch, involving players from both Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq. Hazazi was ultimately sent off, while Henderson emerged unscathed.

This encounter marked the first time Ronaldo and Henderson shared the pitch since Manchester United’s clash with Liverpool in August, which concluded with a 2-1 victory for the hosts.

Ronaldo subsequently left Old Trafford and joined Al-Nassr in the new year, while Henderson made his move to Al-Ettifaq from Liverpool in July.

Al-Nassr is set to face Al-Khaleej in their upcoming match on Saturday, while Al-Ettifaq will host Al-Raed in the Saudi Pro League on the same day.
