LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Barcelona’s 17-year-old, Marc Guiu, turned savior with a stunning debut goal, finding the net just 23 seconds after stepping onto the pitch against Athletic Club.

Guiu entered the game as a substitute in the 79th minute and wasted no time, scoring the decisive goal for the Catalan giants, igniting the home crowd’s jubilation.

The play began with Inigo Martinez passing the ball to Joao Felix, who promptly delivered a precise through ball to Guiu.

Guiu’s first touch positioned him perfectly for the shot, displaying the composure to slide the ball past the onrushing Unai Simon.

Despite Simon’s slight touch on the ball, he couldn’t prevent it from rolling into the net.

In the absence of Robert Lewandowski, the young debutant proved to be Barcelona’s hero, securing three vital points that elevated the club to third place in the Liga standings with 24 points from 10 matches.

Under the guidance of Xavi, Barcelona now gears up for a Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, followed by a showdown with arch-rivals Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the 2023-24 season on October.
