LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Facundo Farias, who made the move from Argentine club Atletico Colon to Inter Miami in July, recently disclosed that his decision to join Inter Miami and play alongside Lionel Messi required his wife, Angi, to sacrifice her university studies.
Farias explained, “She was studying her major, but we had to move here. She wanted to kill me! But I told her, ‘We’re going to play with Messi!’”
Despite the challenges he’s faced, including the loss of both parents and his grandfather, the 21-year-old has persevered, and he believes that these hardships have contributed to his strength and his achievement of realizing his dream of becoming a professional footballer, particularly playing alongside his childhood hero, Messi.

He expressed, “It’s honestly been very difficult. I’ve taken a lot of blows because of the losses in my life.
“But I think that has all made me strong enough to be where I am today. Growing up, I wanted to be a footballer.
“If it didn’t happen, fine. But I would’ve died knowing that I tried everything to make it. Thankfully it worked out.”
Farias has received a call-up to the Argentina squad for two World Cup qualifiers. La Albiceleste will host Paraguay on Thursday and then face Peru four days later.
