LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) In a touching gesture of support, Chelsea players presented their manager, Emma Hayes, with a specially framed club jersey to honour the recent passing of her father.
At Stamford Bridge, captain Millie Bright, representing the entire squad, handed over the framed jersey with “Papa 82” written on the back, which brought tears to Hayes’ eyes.

In a show of solidarity, each Chelsea player embraced their manager during this challenging period in her life.
The Chelsea Women’s team got off to a strong start in the 2023/24 Women’s Super League season, defeating Tottenham 2-1, with goals from Mia Fishel and Lauren James.
Hayes’ team is set to face Manchester City in the Women’s Super League on October 8.
