LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Alexis Mac Allister, a Liverpool player, could be subject to FA disciplinary action for his social media comment in which he claimed that Tottenham had “12 players” during Liverpool’s contentious defeat.
The World Cup-winning Argentina international was among those who expressed discontent with the performance of match officials during the Premier League match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In that game, Liverpool had Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota sent off, and Luis Diaz had a valid goal disallowed due to yet another VAR mistake.
The PGMOL has apologized for a “significant human error,” but Liverpool has called for an “escalation and resolution” to address costly officiating blunders.
This is not the first time Liverpool has felt aggrieved, as they have experienced several contentious decisions lately.

Last season, Jurgen Klopp received a two-match touchline ban for accusing referee Paul Tierney of bias in another dramatic encounter with Spurs.
Mac Allister may face similar consequences for suggesting that Simon Hooper acted against Liverpool in North London.
In response to fellow countryman Cristiano Romero’s Instagram post celebrating Spurs’ 2-1 victory, Mac Allister commented, “Normal when you have 12 players,” to which Romero retorted, “Cry at home.” Mac Allister has since deleted his comment.
The FA may opt to charge Mac Allister for questioning the integrity of a Premier League referee, despite the comment being removed.
Additionally, Liverpool is at risk of being fined by the Football Association due to accumulating more than five yellow cards in their eventful match against Tottenham.
