LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Lionel Messi has now tied Robert Taylor and Josef Martinez for third place among all-time goal scorers with his ninth goal in his Inter Miami career.
After thrashing Philadelphia Union 4-1 on Tuesday night, Inter Miami has moved on to the 2023 League Cup final.
Lionel Messi scored his ninth goal for Inter Miami, moving him into joint third place in the club’s all-time scoring rankings.
Since moving to Miami from Paris Saint-Germain, Messi has entirely changed the team’s fortunes. Tata Martino’s team is now on a six-game winning streak, including the penalty shootout victory against FC Dallas.

He now ranks third among all scorers for his team, behind only Robert Taylor and Josef Martinez.
Leonardo Campana, ex Barcelona forward, is in front of Messi in second place with 16 goals, while Gonzalo Higuain, a former Argentina teammate, is at the top of the list with 29 goals for Inter Miami since they were created in 2018.
The Herons will play Nashville, which defeated Monterrey in the other semifinal, in their first-ever League Cup final on Sunday night.
