Grammy winner Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as ‘Burna Boy’, continues to stir reactions as clips from his UEFA Champions League (UCL) performance last night trend on social media.
Before the Champions League final began at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, the Nigerian singer electrified the crowd by giving a thrilling performance.
At the after-match show, Burna Boy revealed that Thierry Henry was one of his biggest idols growing up.
He also hailed Jaime Carragher, noting that he used to be a fan and watched him a lot during his days as a Liverpool player.
While on the show, Burna gave Henry his million-dollar diamond chain before thrilling the former football stars to a medley of his songs.
Burna Boy then disclosed to the Frenchman that the name “Gambo” on the necklace refers to his closest buddy, Gambo, whom he lost.
He claimed that knowing that Henry is wearing Gambo’s name right now is the most wonderful thing in the world that he can ever do.
Burna Boy shared a picture of Thierry Henry wearing his “Gambo” diamond necklace on his Instagram story.
In his conversation with the former Arsenal man, Burna Boy was placed on the spot when he asked the music star to choose between Kanu and Okocha.
Henry said: “I have one for you, you go Kanu or Okocha?
“Burna Boy did not fall for it and chose to instead whisper his choice Henry’s ear alone.”
He said: “Don’t do this to me, man. No, I can’t do this.
“This is treachery. It is treason. I can get hanged for it.”
The singer, however, broke many people’s hearts as he revealed that he wasn’t a fan of Manchester City and didn’t want them to win.
The ‘Last Last’ crooner made this statement while on the CBS Golazo after-match show with Thierry Henry, Jaime Carragher, Micha Richards and Peter Schmeichel.
Nigerians have since reacted to the video clips with many hailing him for putting the country on the world map.
