Nigerian singer, Adebola Adeleke popularly known as ‘B-Red’, recently appeared on “Echo Room” where he spoke about his past encounter with Grammy-winning singers, Wizkid and Burna Boy.
According to B-Red, in the days of humble beginnings, he and Wizkid slept on the same special bed in the residence of defunct Mohits Records in Maryland, Lagos.
He said he was with Wizkid on a certain day when he asked him who is the new musician that is claiming to have the baddest song in the industry.
B-Red said that he told Wizkid that that new musician is his cousin, Davido, and that he was coming big into the music scene.
Recalling his first encounter with Burna Boy, he said that he had seen him for the first time in Port Harcourt and that Burna Boy chased after his and Davido’s car screaming: “I love you B-Red; I love you Davido”.
B-Red’s interview clip came amid viral video of Davido calling Burna Boy, Rema, Fire Boy and Asake, ‘new cats’ in the music industry.
He said he and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to hit stardom.
Davido in an interview that went viral on Thursday, said: “Wizkid and I were the first young artists to blow up and it feels good seeing new cats like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, you know a lot of new cats coming, killing it…Asake who was on my album.
“So, yes, I think the future of Afrobeat is in good hands.”
Meanwhile, his statement has sparked controversy on social media with many Burna Boy fans berating him for putting the Grammy award-winning singer in the same group with newbies.
