The father of the deceased, Abubakar Usman, told the Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency, Saleh Jili when he led a delegation on a condolence visit to the village. He listed the deceased as Umar Abubakar, Aliyu Abubakar and their sister Aisha Abubakar. LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Naira appreciated against the dollar at the Investors and Exporters window, exchanging at N429.62 on Friday. The figure represented an increase of 0.15 per cent compared with the N430.25 it exchanged for the dollar on Thursday. An exchange rate of N431.94 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N429.62. The open indicative rate closed at N429.67 to the dollar. The pace of price rises dipped in the US in July as gas prices eased bringing down the annual rate of inflation to 8.5%, still close to a multi-decade high but lower than the four-decade peak it hit in June.
