LAGOS,Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Newcastle United have identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface as their primary target for the forward position in the summer transfer window.

Boniface had an impressive season having played a starring role as Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title for the first time in their 120-year history, emerging as the club’s top scorer for the 2023/2024 season.

The Nigeria international has scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions as Leverkusen continue their charge for a treble with the Europa League and DFB Pokal still to play for.

He has also been linked with a move to Juventus and Napoli.

Meanwhile, according to reports, The Magpies could lose two of their strikers, Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson in the summer.

Isak, who has scored eight goals in his last seven league appearances for Newcastle United, has been linked with a move away from the club.

Eddie Howe’s side are also willing to let Callum Wilson leave the club at the end of the season following his injury struggles.
