LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Barcelona has utilized CGI technology to unveil the anticipated transformation of Camp Nou once the grand €1.5 billion (£1.3bn/$1.6bn) renovation project is finalized.
The extensive Espai Barca redevelopment plan has been in the works for a considerable time, with the Catalan giants diligently securing the necessary funding.
The construction is now in full swing, with one of football’s most renowned venues undergoing substantial renovations.
Barcelona, the defending La Liga champions, are currently hosting their home games at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium while Camp Nou undergoes a transformation expected to take roughly 18 months.
The iconic stadium was in dire need of modernization to bring it into the 21st century.
A recent video shared on social media by Barcelona illustrates the anticipated Sportify Camp Nou, showcasing the spectacular new home for the Catalan giants.
The renovation includes the addition of a domed roof to Camp Nou, leaving approximately one-third of the pitch exposed through a central opening.
The steep stands, which are famous for creating an intimidating and atmospheric atmosphere, will extend outward from the stadium.
