LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Cristiano Ronaldo was fortunate to avoid an injury scare during his recent match for Portugal in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
As he was playing against Bosnia & Herzegovina, an overenthusiastic fan attempted to take a selfie with the superstar by invading the pitch.
In the 38th minute, the fan sneaked up behind Ronaldo and jumped over the advertising hoardings onto the field to get a photo with him.
Security personnel intervened, and during the commotion, Ronaldo’s right boot was stepped on, causing him some discomfort.

This incident was reminiscent of a similar pitch invasion during Portugal’s match against Slovakia, where they secured a place in the 2024 European Championship in Germany.
On that occasion, Ronaldo was more accommodating and happily posed for a photo with a young supporter who made it onto the field.
Despite the distractions and a minor foot injury, Ronaldo continued to play and performed remarkably.
He netted two goals against Bosnia & Herzegovina, increasing his remarkable international goal tally to 127.
The incident serves as a reminder of the fervent fan following and enthusiasm that surrounds Ronaldo’s appearances on the football field.
