LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) –Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to endure an extended absence of up to two months due to a hamstring injury, compounding Manchester United’s woes under manager Erik ten Hag.
The right-back sustained the injury during United’s 3-1 loss to Brighton, despite his late introduction as an 85th-minute substitute.
Wan-Bissaka had initially missed the start of the match due to illness.
A statement from United indicated that Wan-Bissaka would be sidelined for “several weeks,” but reports from The Athletic suggest the absence could extend to eight weeks.
This setback further depletes Ten Hag’s options in the full-back position, with Luke Shaw already facing a lengthy layoff due to a hamstring issue, and Tyrell Malacia sidelined since the previous season’s conclusion.

United’s recent acquisition of Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham and the presence of Diogo Dalot are now critical, as they are the club’s only available natural full-backs.
Manchester United is grappling with an injury crisis that has affected nearly every aspect of their squad, contributing to their disappointing start to the season.
Key players such as Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, Raphael Varane, and Rasmus Hojlund are currently sidelined.
Furthermore, Antony is unavailable due to ongoing allegations in Brazil, and Jadon Sancho has faced criticism on social media without issuing an apology.
United’s Champions League campaign begins on Wednesday against Bayern Munich.
