LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Chelsea has won the fight to capture Moises Caicedo, Brighton midfielder, for a British trade record of £115 million ($146 million).
The Athletic reports that Caicedo’s transfer to the Blues is almost complete after an agreement was reached and a Monday medical appointment was scheduled.
Caicedo will sign for a stunning £115 million, with an option for a further nine years, on an eight-year deal. After the medical, it’s expected that the move will be publicized.
The good news is that the Blues have prevailed in a transfer dispute that has dragged on all summer.
Despite Liverpool’s $110 million British record bid, it was already reported two days ago that Caicedo was adamant about moving to Stamford Bridge. At long last, it appears that Chelsea has secured its man.

According to sources, a sell-on option has also been agreed upon with Brighton, which purchased Caicedo in 2021 for under £4.5 million.
As a result, they stand to make a staggering profit on the Ecuadorian international of more than £110 million, as well as possible future profits.
This is a ringing endorsement of the club’s well-regarded player acquisition and transfer policy.
Anyone who saw Chelsea’s match against Liverpool on the opening day will be eager to see how Caicedo can improve Mauricio Pochettino’s revamped team, which was full of offensive force but slightly unbalanced and lacked a final cutting edge in the opposing box.
Things will undoubtedly get better as the new recruits become used to life at Stamford Bridge during the ensuing months.
