LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has disclosed plans to provide affordable housing for all its staff members through options provided by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
This was even as the Managing Director, FMBN Mr. Madu Hamman, expressed the bank’s readiness to support the scheme.
The Director General, (NYSC) Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed made the disclosure alongside the Scheme’s top management on a visit to the FMBN headquarters in Abuja.

While commending the bank for its efforts at providing houses at subsidized rates to all categories of citizens, he said the visit was to seek strong collaboration with the bank.
He added that the collaboration will create an opportunity for the staffs to own houses as part of the welfare plan of his administration.
In his response, Mr. Hamman identified three areas staff of the scheme could key into.
These he said are: “National Housing Fund Mortgage Loan, Cooperative Housing Development Loan, and Ministerial Pilot Housing Scheme. We operate each of these plans in all our branches across the nation.”
The Chief Executive Officer of the FMBN reiterated the bank’s commitment to ensuring that low and middle-class Nigerians obtain houses at affordable rates.
