A precise strike by Arsenal forward Caitlin Foord at Stadium Australia with little under 30 minutes remaining gave the tournament co-hosts the lead.

With 20 minutes remaining, Hayley Raso extended the Matildas’ advantage. Sam Kerr, who had been sidelined with a calf injury since the tournament’s beginning, joined the game for the last 10 minutes, adding extra encouragement.
