LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Southampton have apparently turned down Liverpool’s offer of £37 million ($48 million) for Romeo Lavia.
The Athletic reports that Southampton rejected the Reds’ offer to sign the Belgian international despite the Reds’ desire to bolster their midfield.
Liverpool has been advised that they would have to give closer to £50m ($64m) to persuade the Saints to let him go.
Lavia wants to transfer to Anfield, and coming to an agreement on personal terms with the 19-year-old will not be a problem.

After losing Naby Keita, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur Melo, Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his midfield options.
Fabinho and Jordan Henderson may also go because both players appear to be moving to Saudi Arabia.
Lavia has also been linked to Chelsea and Arsenal following his standout efforts for Southampton the previous season.
Klopp’s squad expected to play a friendly against Leicester on 30 July.
