LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Former Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard allegedly turned down the opportunity to play with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami because he wants to remain in Europe.
Due to a mutually agreed-upon contract termination with one year remaining, the Belgian was released by Real Madrid in the summer and is now a free agent.
There have been rumors that Inter Miami, the MLS team that David Beckham co-owns, is eager to sign him in order to assemble a star-studded roster that presently includes Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.
Hazard has reportedly declined a move to the DRV PNK Stadium in the MLS in order to pursue his career in Europe, according to Voetbalkrant.

Additionally, Anderlecht has been mentioned as a possible destination for Hazard to return to, although the club has ruled out a transfer for the former Real Madrid and Chelsea forward.
Although he has claimed that he does not want to retire, he is having a difficult time finding a new team after being called a failure after a disastrous stint in the capital of Spain, where he only managed to score seven goals and provide four assists.
Hazard’s departure leaves open the possibility that other European teams could show an interest in the 32-year-old.
Even so, when he declared he would stop representing his country after the 2022 World Cup, he was accorded a hero’s send-off in Brussels.
It’ i unclear if Hazard’s desire to remain in Europe will limit his options, and it’s also unclear whether or not his position as a free agent would catch the interest of prospective employers.
