LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Riyad Mahrez will reportedly be transferred from Manchester City to Al-Ahli in a deal for £30 million ($39 million).
Although City was hesitant to let the Algerian international go, a deal was finally reached after Al-Ahli submitted a proposal that was competitive with their asking price.
According to The Athletic, Mahrez will soon undergo a physical and enter on a three-year deal with the Saudi Pro League team, with an additional year’s option.

The rest of the team is scheduled to depart on Wednesday, but Mahrez has been given permission to skip City’s preseason tour of Asia while the transfer is finalized.
With Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Neves, Roberto Firmino, and maybe Jordan Henderson and Fabinho all committed to the Gulf state, Mahrez is expected to join a lengthy list of Premier League players who have already left for it.
Pep Guardiola will likely return to the transfer market to find a replacement for Mahrez, considering his contribution to City’s treble last season. Barcelona’s Raphinha is among the names linked so far.
