LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Arsene Wenger thinks Arsenal can now contend for the Premier League title in 2023–24 after paying a record-breaking acquisition of Declan Rice.
After narrowly missing out on the Premier League championship the previous season, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice have all been significant additions to Arsenal’s roster this campaign.
Rice joined Arsenal for a club-record sum of £105 million ($137 million), and renowned former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger thinks the new additions will help the Gunners win the Premier League this year.
Speaking to Eurosport, Wenger said: “I think it is a good investment. Overall, personally, I think they have made good buys as they are players who are now mature, 23, 24, but still young, so can stay together for a few years.

“They will be under more pressure after last year, but they have learned a lot, and they can show they can deal with that pressure now.
“I believe we will win the championship; it is as simple as that. I have less doubts for Arsenal than the cycling today.”
When the infamous “invincibles” won the Premier League in 2003–04, Wenger was the last Arsenal manager to do so.
Arteta will want to emulate his old manager’s success at the club this season with the new additions on board.
Arsenal’s preseason trip to the US comprises a 27-man roster, according to Mikel Arteta.
Following matches against Manchester United, Barcelona, and Monaco, the Gunners will play an MLS All-Star XI on 19 July.
