LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly sends an emotional tweet after leaving Chelsea for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal

During his one-year stay with the London club, Koulibaly praised the Chelsea supporters for their support.

For a cost of €23 million, the former Napoli defender signed a three-year contract with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Koulibaly struggled at Stamford Bridge for the duration of the season, but he occasionally displayed flashes of his talent.

However, Mauricio Pochettino does not include Koulibaly in his future plans.

Koulibaly wrote in a heartfelt tweet: “It was an honor to wear this badge from my first game to my last.

Despite the fact that the 2017–18 season wasn’t what we had hoped for, I want to thank the club’s supporters and everyone for their help.

The Senegal skipper struggled to match his performances from his time at Napoli despite being one of the most notable signings of the new Chelsea era last year.

Koulibaly was one of the prominent players who made the decision to leave the club as Pochettino planned to reduce the size of a vast Chelsea squad.
