LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Gary Neville, legendary Manchester United defender, has once more criticized the Glazer family for their drawn-out sale of the team.
The Glazers had originally set a deadline of late April to complete a purchase after receiving their first offers for the team back in February.
However, with United facing its final game of the season and three rounds of bidding completed, there is still no word on the chosen buyer, either at a full takeover or a partial investment capacity, for the American siblings.
Neville has called the strategy “unprofessional” and has previously been outspoken about how they have handled the process.
The former United right-back wrote in a Tweet “Plainly obvious the Glazer family aren’t going to announce anything on the ownership until the season is closed!” .

“They’ve been spinning it out unprofessionally for weeks and months now. They know fan protests would have been more significant than they already have if matches were still being played and the end result of the sale process is unpopular.
“Basically any family members staying in would be deemed unacceptable by all fans. Is this why they’re holding off?”
It is difficult to show that the Glazers’ drawn-out sale was an intentional ruse to quell prospective protests, but its implications for long-term planning are clear.
While the takeover drama is still ongoing, Luke Shaw is still the only player to have signed a new contract. Other notable players in need of a contract extension include David de Gea and Marcus Rashford.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the club, Erik ten Hag also acknowledged earlier this month that he is unsure about his summer spending plan.
According to reports, the buyout proposal’s specifics will have a significant impact on United’s summer as Neymar might make a surprise move to Paris Saint-Germain if the Qatari team commanded by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani wins.
