LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has won Abuja in the ongoing presidential polls.
In the Federal Capital Territory, Obi received 281,667 votes from the six area councils, taking the lead.
Although INEC officials have not officially declared him the winner, the numbers provided by the collation officers showed that he did so by a significant margin.
The All Progressive Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, polled 90,902 votes while Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailed behind with 73,743 votes.
With these results, the former Anambra State Governor has defeated the APC at both their candidate’s stronghold, and the Federal Capital.
