LAGOS, NIGERIA (VOICE OF NAIJA) –The family of the late Nollywood actor, John Odonwodo, popularly called Junior Pope has released his funeral arrangements.
Pope died on April 10 in the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state on his way to a movie location.
He passed away alongside four other crew members in a boat accident.
Pope’s demise led to the suspension of Adanma Luke, the producer of the upcoming movie in which the late actor was supposed to feature.
On April 19, the Enugu state government promised the actor’s family that he would be given a befitting burial.
A funeral announcement signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family disclosed that the burial arrangements began on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta.

It further stated that another requiem mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A, Enugu, on May 13.
The family said a wake keep will be held in Pope’s honour on May 16, while the funeral will take place the following day.
The funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Parish Ukehe, Enugu state.
“This will be followed by an evening of tributes/candlelight at Amadeo Event Center in the same state on May 14.
“On May 16, the wake will be held at his country home, Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukka, Igboetiti, LGA of Enugu State, and his interment will be done immediately after the burial mass at St. Peter’s Parish, Ukehe, on May 17.
“A final thanksgiving mass will be held on Sunday, May 19 at St. Peter’s Parish Ukehe Nsukka, Igboetiti LGA, Enugu,” it added.
Pope was married to Jennifer Awele. They have three children together.
