A 50-year-old pastor, Lawrence Omoniyi, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, for allegedly defiling a teenage girl. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Bola Osunsanmi, of the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, did not take the defendant’s plea. She adjourned the case until 18 April for the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The defendant, (whose church name is being withheld), resides at 4, Orisunbare St., off Tapa Road, Isawo Ikorodu, Lagos. Omoniyi is being tried for defilement. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that there was no winner in the 25 February National Assembly Election in Doguwa and Tudunwada Federal Constituency. Alhassan Doguwa, Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, who contested on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, was initially declared winner of the exercise. However, the electoral umpire delisted his name from the reps-elect and failed to issue him a certificate of return. The commission had said he was declared winner of the election under duress. Emmanuel Odunlami, a Nigeria-born music manager based in London has been stabbed to death over a designer watch worth up to £300,000 after celebrating his birthday, a court has heard. The 32-year-old was attacked by three robbers after leaving Haz restaurant near St Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London on 1 May, last year, the Old Bailey heard. The extradition of a 48-year-old Nigerian woman, Jeff Joy, who was one of the few women on Italy’s 100 most wanted criminal list marks a unique event in the relation between the two countries. The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the Independent National Electoral (INEC) to allow Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu, to inspect electoral materials used for the conduct of the presidential election. American comedian and actor Mike Epps could face charges after a handgun was found at a security checkpoint at the Indianapolis airport over the weekend. Four Americans who were kidnapped last week in Mexico have been found on Tuesday, but two of them had already died. According to the Governor of the border State of Tamaulipas, where the abduction occurred last week, two of the four Americans were found dead, while the other two were found alive.
