LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Y.D Ahmed, has tasked Corps members to remain committed to promoting national unity and uphold the symbol of selfless ambassadors wherever they are posted.
The DG made this call during the closing ceremony of the orientation exercise for the 2024 Batch A Stream 2 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Ahmed, delivered his message through the NYSC Coordinator for Sokoto State, Alhaji Usman Yakubu Yaro.

Yaro said the Director-General emphasised on the need to uphold a positive influence and shun criminal activities.
He said, “I admonish you to uphold the values of patriotism, diligence, and perseverance, which are essential qualities for nation-building,” he stated, emphasizing the need for corps members to represent not only their families but also the NYSC positively.”
As part of security measures, The DG warned the Corps Members against night travelling, advised to find a safe place to to spend the night once it’s 6:00pm.
He also urged them to put into practice the post-camp Skill Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme and take advantage of its knowledge whilst discharging their primary assignments.
The DG advised them to respect the culture and traditions of the people of their host communities.
Lastly, the distribution of posting letters were handed to successful Corps Members. .
