LAGOS,Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Nigerian U15 boys Future Eagles have decided to pull out of the upcoming UEFA U-16 development tournament.
Their withdrawal came after the Spanish embassy denied them visas to travel for the competition.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the announcement through a tweet, stating that the players and officials of the U15 team were unable to participate in the tournament as planned.
The UEFA U-16 development tournament is an annual event that aims to nurture young talents and features four national teams.

Despite being organized by UEFA, non-European nations like Nigeria are usually invited to take part.
This year’s tournament was set to be held at the Pinatar Arena Football Centre in San Pedro del Pinatar, Murcia, Spain.
The NFF mentioned that Nigeria received a special invitation to participate in recognition of its success in youth football.
The Future Eagles were scheduled to depart for Spain on Tuesday and play their first match against Belgium on Friday, followed by games against Italy and England.
