LAGOS,Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Eight members of a music band in Uganda were arrested for voicing their complaint about the president’s lengthy speech during a recent event.
According to local media, one of the band members expressed dissatisfaction, which was perceived as an insult to President Yoweri Museveni.
The incident occurred at the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and his wife Jacqueline Mbabazi.

The band members reportedly made their remarks in the local Runyankole language.
The musicians have been accused of saying, “Rutabandana Waturusya Rugahamuzindaro,” which roughly translates to “over speaker, we are tired, leave the microphone.”
The individuals are currently in custody at the Kampala Central Police Station and have been charged with insulting the president, as stated in court documents reviewed by local media.
No statements have been issued by the band or the police regarding the situation.
