LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Mykhailo Mudryk finally found the back of the net for Chelsea, opening the scoring in their Premier League encounter against Fulham.
Mudryk controlled a cross from Levi Colwill and calmly slotted it past Bernd Leno, giving Chelsea a lead 18 minutes into the match at Craven Cottage.
Just a minute later, Armando Broja doubled Chelsea’s advantage, capitalizing on a significant error by Tim Ream. Ream lost possession to Cole Palmer, and in an attempt to clear the ball, ended up deflecting it off Chelsea’s striker and into the net.

Mudryk’s goal ended a long wait for the Ukrainian winger’s first goal for Chelsea. He joined the club in January in a deal potentially worth €100 million but had yet to find the back of the net.
For Broja, the goal was a significant boost as he recently returned from a cruciate ligament injury that had sidelined him since last December.
Chelsea entered the match at Craven Cottage seeking their second league victory of the season. The team had a challenging start to the campaign, placing them 15th in the table prior to kickoff.
A win against Fulham would mark the second consecutive victory for Pochettino’s side after defeating Brighton 1-0 in the Carabao Cup the previous week.
Following Monday’s match, Chelsea will face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
