LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Harry Kane has reportedly shed light on his decision to opt for Bayern Munich over Manchester United in a recent interview ahead of their Champions League encounter.
Kane expressed his contentment with joining Bayern Munich, a transfer saga that culminated in a €100 million (£86 million) deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
While the Red Devils showed significant interest in him, they didn’t meet the financial demands set by Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy.
In his pre-match comments before Wednesday night’s Group A opener at the Allianz Arena against Manchester United, Kane stated;
“Over the summer, I know there were some behind-the-scenes talks with a few clubs, but I was genuinely intrigued and excited by Bayern.”

He continued, “Once Bayern expressed their interest, there weren’t many other discussions. They engaged with Tottenham, and the deal was finalized.
“My focus is here. Manchester United is undoubtedly a great and massive club. I made the decision to come here, and I’m extremely happy about it.”
Despite Manchester United’s challenging start to the season, with three losses in their first five Premier League matches, Kane remains cautious.
He noted, “United has recently gone through a difficult phase, but sometimes that can make them even more dangerous.”
“We need to be cautious because they will be seeking a strong response. While we’re playing at home and want to dictate the game on our terms, they also possess threats that we must be wary of.”
Since his move from Tottenham, Kane has been in excellent form, scoring four goals in as many Bundesliga matches.
He is eager to continue this fine form in the Champions League, especially against familiar rivals like Manchester United, at the Allianz Arena.
