Although Nagelsmann is currently without a job, he remains under contract with Bayern Munich until 2026.
Should the DFB wish to hire him, Bayern may seek compensation in the range of €10–15 million.
In addition to the former Bayern boss, BILD also suggests that the DFB is contemplating the possibility of hiring former Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal for the managerial role.
