LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly held a meeting with the Chelsea Directors to discuss the possibility of being the team’s next manager.
This follows on from informal discussions that had previously taken place in recent weeks between Nagelsmann’s representatives and Chelsea as the Blues narrowed down their list of potential candidates.
Nagelsmann has already had face-to-face meetings with Chelsea Directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart to go over his plans for the team.
Luis Enrique, a former manager of Barcelona and Spain, was recently in London for meetings with Chelsea officials, THEWILL cited.
Despite continuing to be seen as the top possibilities for the position, Nagelsmann and Enrique are not the only choices. Chelsea has also considered Ruben Amorim, the manager of Sporting CP, and Mauricio Pochettino.
The co-owners of Chelsea, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, are committed to hiring the greatest candidate, and they are willing to oversee a drawn-out, thorough process to that end.
All potential managers were questioned during the discussions regarding their expectations for the club’s young players and their plans for the summer transfer market.
Levi Colwill, a loaned center back who had a standout season with Brighton, is one of those rising young stars and has been given a spot in Chelsea’s first team for the upcoming campaign.
