LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) Sergio Ramos, the legendary figure from Real Madrid, reportedly infuriated Manchester United by swiftly declining their offer of a one-year contract.
This World Cup-winning defender became a free agent at the beginning of the summer after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain, the giants of Ligue 1.
He spent a significant amount of time pondering his next move while considering various options.
Despite a lucrative proposal from Saudi Arabia, it was reported by The Sun that Ramos also turned down the opportunity to sign a £73,000-a-week deal with Old Trafford.
Manchester United made their move for the experienced center-back as the summer transfer window neared its end, especially with the absence of the injured Raphael Varane in their defensive lineup.

Ramos promptly rejected Manchester United’s advances, much to their disappointment, leaving the Premier League powerhouse lacking defensive reinforcement.
Instead of heading to England, the former Los Blancos captain chose to return to his origins with Sevilla.
Ramos is now back where his career began, making 50 appearances for Sevilla between 2003 and 2006 before embarking on an iconic journey at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He had been linked with Manchester United on several occasions over the years, but a mutually agreeable deal was never reached.
