LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-La Liga champions Barcelona have reportedly declined to take the Brazilian back after Neymar’s agent made an offer to them.
This summer, Neymar’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain has been discussed after a number of reports indicated that the star was dissatisfied with his situation there.
According to a Mundo Deportivo story, the Brazilian player’s agent reportedly made Barcelona an offer, but the defending Spanish champions declined to re-sign him this summer.
Barcelona turned down Neymar for two main reasons. One, the club couldn’t now afford to sign Neymar since they couldn’t meet the star player’s salary demands.
Second, Barcelona believed that Neymar’s prominence as a player would undermine the comradery of a tight-knit locker room.
Neymar reportedly wanted to return to the Catalan powerhouses, the team with which he won his only Champions League title before departing in 2017 for a transfer record to the French capital.

While Barcelona manager Xavi, who briefly played with Neymar at Cam Nou, does not question the star player’s talent, he did not want to disrupt the mood in the locker room.
Neymar was reportedly interested in moving to a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool. Still, it now appears that he will remain at PSG for the foreseeable future.
He recently shared a picture of a private plane in the background along with the words “Party season 23/24” on the social media platform Threads.
Later this month, with the start of the new Ligue 1 season on August 13, Neymar is anticipated to return to PSG’s preseason practice.
In July, they are scheduled to embark on a 10-day preseason tour in Japan, where they will play matches against Al-Nassr, Cerezo Osaka, and Inter.
