LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Pep Guardiola is hesitant to say whether or not that was the best career decision but Lionel Messi decided to leave Europe for an MLS adventure at Inter Miami.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has stated that he will be chasing the American dream this summer by joining the David Beckham co-owned team playing out of Florida as he gets ready to depart Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.
Despite all that the legendary Argentine has accomplished, that move has drawn some criticism, but Guardiola, who worked with Messi for four years while in charge of La Liga’s Barcelona, has no desire to get involved in a discussion that only Messi himself can settle.

Guardiola told reporters when asked about Messi’s decision to head for the United States, having been heavily linked with a return to Barca or a move to join eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East: “I am out of this situation, you know more about it than I do.
“If in the end Leo decides to go to the United States, I am sure he will do well and that is the best decision for him. I ignore the inner gossip. And the money over there is very good, I won’t comment about it.”
According to reports, Messi’s contract in Miami is worth between $125 million and $150 million (£100 million to £120 million), with MLS sponsors Apple and Adidas negotiating deals that will see that base wage topped off by a revenue share program.
