Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci has reacted to the lawsuit threat by Abuja-based company, Vibebyanns, after publicly denying having any knowledge of their scheduled event.
This comes few days ago after Hilda dismissed reports alleging that she was charging twenty-five thousand Naira for people to observe her culinary skills in Abuja.
Baci, in a post via her social media page, cancelled the ‘meet and greet’ session, clarifying that she did not ask anyone to pay such an amount of money.
She said: “Hi everyone. This is to inform everyone that I’m not doing any meet and greet in Abuja. I would also never ask anyone to pay for such.”

However, Vibebyanns had, in the wake of Hilda’s denial of their N25k Meet and Greet for the chef, put out a statement affirming that both parties were in agreement and vowed to sue her ‘to ensure justice is seen.’
The event organizers noted that Hilda’s action has affected their brand and they would take all necessary steps to ensure that justice is served on the issue.
In response to the allegations, the Akwa-Ibom-born chef via her verified social media handle, clarified that the money paid by the organizers of the event was refunded after she felt uncomfortable about the charging arrangements.
According to Hilda, she would never ask fans to pay to see her and recalled her last Akwa Ibom outing where she took pictures with about 300 fans and did not budge or charge the fans.
She further noted she had informed the organizers of her intentions to withdraw from the arrangement hoping they did not post the fliers on their platform.

Unfortunately, they went ahead despite her refusal to participate in their scheduled event.
The Akwa Ibom indigene shared receipts, on her Insta Story, of her WhatsApp conversation with the event planner confirming how she backed out and refunded them the N3 million as soon as she found out about the N25k part.
She admitted making the mistake of handling the deal herself instead of having her manager do it as has always been the case.
Hilda noted that the deal came through a friend and that was why she thought handling it herself was not a bad idea.
