Nollywood actress Adunni Adewale better known as Adunni Ade has reacted to a call out made by Murphy Afolabi’s burial committee seeking refund for the sum of N150,000 given to her by the deceased while alive.

The appeal was issued at an event held to honour the late actor in Lagos.

The announcer, who spoke in Yoruba language, said Murphy Afolabi paid the actress N150,000 for a job that was yet to be done before he died.

Since the job will never be done again, a refund was then required.

Murphy Afolabi died on Sunday, 14 May, 2023 after he reportedly slipped in his bathroom.

Meanwhile Adunni Ade took to her Instagram page to share proof of payment made by her to the actor’s account before his demise and also called the allegation made by the Muslim cleric ‘false’.

The statement released on her social media handle was titled “May The Soul of Murphy Afolabi Rest In Peace”.

In the statement, the mother-of-two disclosed that sometimes in July, 2021, the actor reached out to her for a movie production.

Murphy asked for her professional fee and since he couldn’t afford to pay it, he asked for her moral support.

He paid her N150,000 to ‘fuel her car’, adding that she will only spend one day on the movie set and shoot 10 scenes.
