ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service have intercepted approximately 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives along the Yauri/Jega Road.
According to the Area Comptroller of Customs, Iheanacho Ojike, the dynamites were discovered during an intelligence-based patrol conducted by a joint border patrol team comprising Customs, Army, Police, Immigration, and the Department of State Services.
According to reports, the interception occurred on Thursday, with the explosives subsequently handed over to officials of the DSS in Kebbi.

Iheanacho stated that a thorough joint examination, involving relevant units of customs and police, revealed that the suspected items comprised 40 cartons and sacks containing a total of 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives.
The Comptroller emphasized that the handover to the DSS was carried out in the spirit of inter-agency collaboration to facilitate continued investigation.
In receiving the explosives from the customs comptroller, the Deputy Director of DSS, Anthony Oduwalu, expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts and pledged to maintain the interagency cooperation moving forward.
