LAGOS, Nigeria (V0ICE OF NAIJA)-Alf-Inge Haaland, the father of Erling Haaland, was kicked out of Manchester City’s match against Real Madrid for reportedly insulting the crowd and hurling peanuts.

On Tuesday night, David Alaba’s last-second challenge prevented Haaland from having a chance to score, so the former City midfielder could only watch from the Santiago Bernabeu terraces.

Alf-Inge had a difficult night and was hauled out of the stadium to a cry of “Tonto!” (“idiot!“). He had scored 51 goals in the previous game.

According to Spanish journalist Inaki Angulo, he reportedly insulted the Madrid supporters during the game and even hurled peanuts in their direction.

Haaland’s performance that night was a rarity as Madrid’s Brazilian superstar Vinicius Junior enthralled the crowd with an electrifying display and a magnificent first-half goal.

However, Kevin De Bruyne’s disputed equalizer in the second half has set up the return leg brilliantly, where Haaland Senior will undoubtedly receive a considerably warmer response after making 45 appearances for the club at the height of his career.

The intimidating Norwegian, if chosen, will be seeking retribution in a challenging test on the road at Everton on Sunday before the exciting second leg of the semi-final at the Etihad Stadium in a week.
