LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Real Madrid plan to restructure their team during the forthcoming offseason as club target Perez’s players.
Currently, Los Blancos are now in second position in La Liga with just nine games left in the season, 11 points behind league leader Barcelona.
Real Madrid’s depth has been put to the test this season despite the fact that they are in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
As a result, club president Florentino Perez has his eye on four Chelsea players as prospective trade targets. Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Reece James, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all on his radar.
James’ current contract is valid through 2025, but the contracts of the other three expire in 2024, making them free agents if they do not sign new deals.
According to reports, Perez wants to profit on Chelsea’s recent troubles and their absence from the UCL in the upcoming season.
Kovacic, who previously played three seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Mount, who has attracted interest from a number of elite teams, are two of the most sought-after members of the quartet.
Nevertheless, Chelsea continue to be optimistic about their chances of keeping Mount as the Blues’ new managerial intentions are thought to be compelling enough to persuade Mount to stay during a second round of negotiations slated for the upcoming weeks.
