IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – With the governorship election coming on Saturday, 11 March, 2023, the race for who would become Lagos state’s next Governor has gotten more interesting with the emergence of another strong opposition apart from the usual APC and PDP we’ve seen in years.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party, reacting to a recent “attack” by the All Progressives Congress said that the party’s action is simply because he can’t be bought, bribed and they have nothing to offer the people of Lagos State.
GRV tweeted on Sunday: “LAGOSIANS all these attacks from the APC is simply because I can’t be bought, cannot be bribed and because they have nothing to offer, they can only spin tribalism and propaganda… If a government has done well, they will not need to suppress votes or threaten people.”
On 26 February, 2023, the 39-year-old candidate of Labour party said he is more worried about the safety of Lagosians whose lives according to him are under threat daily.
Rhodes-Vivour said he is more worried about the safety of Lagosians whose lives according to him are under threat daily.
“I’m getting a lot of warnings about threat to my life. Lagosians are concerned about my safety. I am more concerned about the safety of Lagosians whose lives are under threat daily! For all that has been happening to us, I hold SanwoOlu and APC responsible Èkó E dìde!!” he tweeted.
