ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in Enugu, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, says his administration will move the Gross Domestic Product from its current $4.4 billion to at least $30 billion in the space of eight years.
According to him, this is achievable through different interventions across all the sectors.
He stated this during an interactive press conference to unveil his Campaign Manifesto, at the Nigerian Union Of Journalists (NUJ) Press Center, Enugu on Thursday.
Mbah stressed that he is proposing to do things differently from various sectors, apart from making things better.
He said: “In the Agricultural Sector, it is going to take technology enable to enhance our productivity. Our productivity in the Agricultural sector is expected to enhance five folds.
“To achieve this, just in the Agricultural sector where the current construction of the agriculture/GDP is $2 Million. If we are able to role that five folds, it means that we can move from $2 Million to $10 Million.
Mbah noted that Agriculture will no longer be consumption as usual, adding that: “The objective of our programmes in the agriculture sector shall be to feed Enugu State and turn the state into a food-basket for Nigeria and a hub for export of cash crops.”
He also promised to tackle water scarcity in Enugu through private investors.
