There was commotion in some parts of Rivers State capital as residents discovered three lifeless bodies — two males and a female — at two different locations in Port Harcourt. Two dead males were seen around Obiri-Ikwerre area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area while the female was found around Road 1, Royal Estate, Rumuaghorlu in the same LGA. Award-winning author, Chimamanda Adichie, has attended the proceedings of the Presidential Election Petition Court alongside the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, on Tuesday in Abuja. Filmmaker and actor Saliu Gbolagade announced the sad news on his Instagram page on Monday. Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu will attend the 63rd independence anniversary of the Republic of Benin, on Tuesday, 1 August, his spokesman, Dele Alake, has said. The President, who is also the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, was invited by President Patrice Talon of the Republic of Benin. No fewer than 23,224 residents of Nasarawa State have tested positive to the viral Hepatitis B and C, according to the State Government. The Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Janet Angbazo, made the disclosure during a press briefing held in commemoration of the 2023 World Hepatitis Day tagged “We are not waiting, one life, and one liver”, in Lafia on Monday. The Independent Campaign Council (ICC) on Sunday assured members of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, that former President Goodluck Jonathan would not be allowed to nominate the state’s ministerial candidate.
