Students from the oil-producing Ilaje and Ese Odo communities in Ondo State, have given the Ondo State government, a 7-Day ultimatum to remit 40% oil derivation fund to the communities. The students stated this when protesting against the non-payment of their bursary and abandonment of their communities by the State government. Nigeria has reportedly disconnected the supply of 150 megawatts of electricity daily to Niger as part of efforts by the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, to restore democracy in that nation. Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Wednesday, sentenced Nwakaego Okoye, a female TikTok user, to three years imprisonment for cyberstalking Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus. The judge convicted Nwakaego after she pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of cyberstalking. In a consideration that followed the convict’s remorse, Justice Oweibo however gave her an option of paying a fine of N150,000 in lieu of jail time.
