LAGOS, NIGERIA (VOICE OF NAIJA) –The online feud between Nigerian singers, Wizkid and Davido, escalated Monday night as both artists traded insults on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The dispute began in the early hours of Monday when Wizkid mocked Davido and Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records founder.
Wizkid called Don Jazzy an influencer while taunting Davido with a video of him on his knees, pleading and crying after a fan asked him to release new music.
This generated uproar on the micro-blogging platform with many wondering what could be wrong with both men.
In a flurry of tweets on Monday evening, Davido took a subtle jab at Wizkid, implying he was online to confront his adversaries.
Davido made a scathing comment about Wizkid’s carter, stating that his music was no longer relevent.

“When LIGHT comes darkness VANISHES!!! LETS GET ACTIVE!! Montego Bay we deyaaaaaaa. Dem no know ur gbedu again. I can’t wait till 20 years from now … enjoy ur time,” he wrote.
Adding fuel to the fire, Davido posted a video of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, with the caption, “They were trying to distract us, baby no mind dem,” suggesting resilience amidst the online drama.
Amid Davido’s series of posts, Wizkid wrote: “U know what..no point. delusional niggas pray for y’all”.
“WE NOT DELUSIONAL YOU’RE A SICK MAN,” Davido retorted.
Replying to Davido, Wizkid reshared a video of his colleague on his knees, crying and begging alongside an emoji of himself laughing.
In a follow-up post, Davido wrote: “That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of usd of endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. NEXT!!”
Wizkid fired back at Davido who referred to as “my boy”. He also argued that Davido cannot attain his level in the music industry.

He also described Davido as an influencer who cannot do without a songwriter.
I got nun to say to u my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. You be influencer with a song writer . Wish u well,” he wrote.

The rift between the two superstars comes as a surprise to many, considering their recent public display of camaraderie when they were spotted hugging in a Lagos nightclub.
Moreover, Wizkid had previously announced plans for a joint tour with Davido, indicating a potential collaboration despite their apparent differences.
Wizkid and Davido are considered to be among the three biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times, with their fans often divided over who is superior.
